 Today, German studentls continued their vocabulary lesson on the word cognate. They are working on a cognate poster.

Spanish students practiced their vocabulary with a few listening activities and then they began learning how to tell time.

French students practiced their number skills through song and a verbal activity.  Today they contributed to their B.A.V binder with the word cognate and then a poster to showcase their knowledge of this word.

All students recieved their final grade sheet from their previous exploratory teacher and my current students have their first vocabulary quiz tomorrow.

German students watched Henning’s Haus in its entirety today and then finished their partner interview. 

Spanish students completed various listening activities and then created a mini dialogue in Spanish.

French students had a few verbal activities and received a project to be completed by tomorrow.

German students continued practicing their vocabulary one sheet with Henning’s Haus video and a student interview in German!

Spanish students continued practicing how to say the date by interviewing students about their birthdays and two practice sheets.

French students had a verbal activity to practice saying the numbers and worked out of their textbook today.

Happy Birthday to my son who turns two today! 

German students played a fantastic game to practice their colors, worked on a coloring worksheet and for homework have a greetings packet to complete (too large to put on the computer, if you need another copy, please see me).

Spanish students played “war” today to practice their numbers  and then learned how to give the date. There is homework today which practices numbers.

Happy Friday everyone!

German students continued singing their alphabet, well yelling at the top of their lungs. Second period is blowing me away!  Anyways, German students learned their numbers and to practice we played BINGO. There is a homework assignment to continue practice numbers and it is due when class begins on Monday.

Spanish students received a lot of information today.  They were given their numbers and vocabulary one sheet.  They had verbal activities with partners and a lesson about TÚ vs. Usted.  Both words mean “you” in Spanish.  Tú is the informal/familiar form.  We use this when speaking with friends, family members etc. Usted is formal and we use this when we need to show respect.

French students chose their names today (ran out of time yesterday), familiarized themselves with their textbook, learned the alphabet and numbers and learned the number son.

German students received their study guide for the final exam on Tuesday.  We worked on this during class time and then corrected it before class ended.

Spanish students watched a video on how to order food and the Mexican culture of food.  They received a study guide for the final exam.  We will correct this as a class on Monday.

French students went to the computer lab and completed a web quest about the Eiffel Tower.  They also received their study guide for the final exam, due Monday.

Sorry for not posting yesterday.  Time got away from me along with my memory.

Yesterday German students received a food vocabulary list and played food bingo.  Today, we finished playing food bingo then watched a very entertaining video with real German commercials about food!

Yesterday, Spanish students continued their lesson on adjectives and also had a poem to write about themselves.  Today they filled out their food vocabulary lists while watching videos of students in Mexico shopping at a traditional market.

French students learned a new song to help them with the days of the week and the weather.  We played a vocabulary recognition game with this song.  They then received a project that we will be working on today (due at the end of the class period.)

Eins, zwei Polizei!  German students heard a cool techno song today about a German rhyme for numbers.  It can be compared to our ryhme One, Two Buckle My Shoe.  They had a lot of fun with this!  Students received vocabulary one sheet today (quiz on this will be Monday).  To help the students practice these new words, we had a packet to fill out.  If the packet was not completed in class, it needs to be done as homework. (The packet is too large to create a link).

French students practiced their listening skills with their new vocabulary and completed listening activities from the textbook.  The activity reinforces the alphabet, numbers and vocabulary one.

 German students learned how to use a bilingual dictionary and then practiced their months and numbers by playing the game of battleship.How to use a dictionary(German)

 German students watched two more great segments of Henning’s Haus to review their house vocabulary and then worked on a packet.  If it was not finished in class, it is homework.

Spanish students finished their telling time lesson and then learned about verbs in Spanish.  We had several video segments to watch along with worksheet.
